What happens to my equipment when it leaves our facilities?
Irtd maintains a strict chain of custody when handling your EOL IT equipment. An Irtd truck driven by an Irtd employee will pick up your retired equipment and transport it directly back to the nearest Irtd facility. At that point a certified Irtd technician will begin the processing of your equipment, so that everything from pickup to disposition is performed by a vetted Irtd employee. What condition does my equipment need to be in for Irtd to take it?
Irtd is a fully certified UNIVERSAL WASTE LARGE QUANTITY HANDLER, meaning we will take ANYTHING with a plug in ANY CONDITION. If you have an item that you are unsure about please contact your local Irtd specialist for clarification.
What type of equipment does Irtd accept?
Irtd was founded on the principle that if you make it easy for people to do the right thing with their retired electronics, they will. This is demonstrated through our policy of accepting all types of electronic equipment, in any condition. We like to say “ANYTHING WITH A PLUG IN ANY CONDITION”.
Does Irtd hold collection events?
Absolutely! Collection events are a key component of Irtd, and are held regularly throughout the areas we cover. Irtd maintains a regular and consistent donation program to help provide vital access to technology for those in need. We work with schools, NPO’S, and individuals in need. Does anyone other than an Irtd employee touch or handle my equipment?
As part of our commitment to all of our partners, we ensure that all equipment is handled entirely by Irtd employees. Starting with on-site pick-up by an Irtd employee through trucking, transportation, and processing your EOL Equipment is handled entirely by Irtd employees. All Irtd employees are regularly vetted and checked for quality assurance. Once equipment is prepared for reuse or de-manufacture and final recycling, Irtd has relationships with top tier downstream vendors that are all compliant.

What documentation do I receive after my equipment is removed?
Depending on which Irtd Program you have chosen, there are different types of reporting that we provide to specific customers based on specific their requests. However, as part of our SOP, every client will receive a BOL on site with a UNIQUE JOB ID #, a COD and a COR linked to that pick-up by that unique JOB ID #. What do I need to do in preparation before Irtd arrives at my facility?
Based on our founding principle, we pride ourselves on making it easy for our partners to work with Irtd in handling their EOL IT equipment responsibly. We will provide a full inventory on site and handle all of the physical removal. We like to say, You Point, We Pick Up.
Does Irtd have its own trucks and drivers?
Yes, Irtd has its own trucks and truck drivers. This allows for a strict chain of custody assuring the safety of your equipment.
What happens to my hard drives?
DATA SECURITY and the proper and compliant handling of all data bearing devices is the the top priority of Irtd. We have invested significant amounts of time, resources, and manpower in the development of a state of the art data security system, where the main objective is to allow our clients to rest easy knowing Irtd is committed to ensuring that all potentially sensitive data is wiped and/or destroyed in accordance with top industry standards and all local, state, and federal guidelines surrounding data security. What happens with the equipment that cannot be redistributed or reused?
The best form of recycling equipment is reusing the equipment, or as we call it UPCYCLING. If equipment is past the point of recovery or reuse, Irtd maintains a certification, which ensures that all equipment that is deemed scrap, is processed by a thoroughly vetted and certified downstream vendors whose environmental practices and policies are in line with our organisation's core philosophies as well as those of the governing body.
Can we recycle hazardous material through Irtd?
Yes, Irtd will dispose of any hazardous material through the proper channels.
